The Kew Book of Painting Orchids in Watercolour

£15.00

My first book has been a labour of love. It was a wonderful experience working with my editor, publisher and members of the team at Kew Gardens. Everyone involved was so supportive and made the whole process a joy.

My editor wrote:
Her luminous painting style perfectly captures the striking beauty of orchids. She not only gives a background to her artistic journey, but also shares her ideas and techniques freely. The book contains a thorough techniques section that will guide you through Vivienne’s decision making, colour matching and painting process. It teaches you how to capture form with speed and confidence, paint different leaf, flower and root shapes, and create different textures. The book contains exercises that will hone your skills and encourage your artistic intuition, followed by three, step-by-step projects. The book is interspersed with images from the Kew Art Collection, showcasing the rich variety and beauty of the orchid family. ‘
